Players explore a virtual movie studio where they can get a job, learn about filmmaking, and solve a mystery.
Creating a LEGO version of a Hollywood movie studio extended the play concept of the LEGO Studios Steven Spielberg MovieMaker Set into a make-believe world of movie production.
This game is one of the first truly immersive 3D games produced for web viewing, created using Shockwave 8.5, and includes the groundbreaking Havoc 3D physics engine.
When the LEGO Studios brand was discontinued, the Backlot Game was brought back by popular demand, and continues to be one of the most popular games on the LEGO website.
Honored with an Outstanding Website Award at the 2002 Web Awards.
